55In trying to be human...
I am at a loss.
It would seem by my peers
I hold myself above those I would speak to openly to.
Too lofty are my words,
intimidating my purpose or unmitigated affect
Heaven forbid!
though I can't help what other's think
I had little to start with
I have made what I have from scratch.
I say why can't others do the same!
I try to inspire,
but somehow it all goes wrong.
talent becomes a two edged knife
upon which I commit social seppuku
I beg the pardon of the masses
though in the end it matters not at all
It isn't like T.S. Elliot
I don't forbid those who don't understand
though in understanding
I provoke
in the end its all the same
I won't stop
a foolish thing to rest a pen
but if you have instruction
simple steps to simply speak
I have quite forgotten how
I would hear discourse to that end
and perhaps be more at one
with those I have considered family
all along.

your cynicism enlivens me somewhat. I would hate to think those things of the person who inspired this but then you are right, the others who have said as much, I can very much believe that of. lol the questions your comment evokes are starting to sound more co-dependent by the moment.
Besides dear Pearldriver, there is already way too much on the table already for me to serve breakfast especially for you. I will work on dinner by and by though. Right now I am working on a turkey.
Well of course to a Kiwi the thought of visualizing a fellow bird being 'stuffed' is not so appetizing as that of a worm backstroking it's way onto the table!

Only you control what you do and what the result means to you. Allow no other to determine your worth or the value of your effort.

Welcome to the world of great writing, where like any profession, some shine while many others can't or don't know how to. So they tear down the brightest beacons that they secretly despise and admire the attributes of... It is a common affliction.. one I have had to deal with, many times in my life beyond a similar set of questions that I once asked of myself also.. Silence your critics with consistent success.. it is the one insecurity that eats away their envy and their insignificance. Embrace the self belief that helped you become a bright light... and swot the moths that feed off your energy... they are merely moths lol.
